Visit of Marriott Changfeng Park: a first glimpse of the students’ coming internships
In the hospitality industry, caring about people is of paramount importance. At Marriott, they have made this statement their adage: “Take care of the associates, and they will take care of the customers”.
On Monday 23rd September 2013, our 6th batch of young bakers attended a special event organized by Jane Wang, Human Resources Director of Marriott Changfeng Park. Thanks to Shirley they discovered Marriott Group’s historical and cultural backgrounds, as well as Marriott Spirit-to-Serve program. Pastry Chef Jacky enthusiastically came to share his impressive work experience and answered many questions from the students towards their upcoming internships. He was assisted by Zhang Jianpu, a 4th batch graduate who did his internship at Marriott Changfeng and has stayed there after graduation, a great role model for the young bakers!
After visiting the hotel’s bakery and pastry departments, we took a group picture with Marriott Changfeng Park’s team. We were far from thinking that they had prepared a surprise for us: a magnificent fruit cake! Jane has always been strongly committed to our charity program. She encouraged the fresh students to do their best to learn bakery and pastry, and gave them useful advice for their internships.

上海新发展亚太万豪酒店之行：SYB学生的首次实习展望
在酒店业，懂得如何关心他人具有至高无上的重要性。在万豪酒店，他们坚信：照顾好员工，他们会照顾好顾客。
2013年9月23日，星期一，我们的第六届学生参加了由上海新发展亚太万豪酒店人力资源总监Jane Wang组织的一次特殊的活动。在Shirley的带领下，学生们了解了万豪集团的历史文化背景，以及万豪集团的“服务精神”项目。西点师Jacky热情地分享了他的工作经验，并回答了许多学生们对于即将到来的实习的疑问。
在参观了酒店的烘焙及西点部后，我们与上海新发展亚太万豪酒店的员工们合影留念。令我们意想不到的是，他们还为我们准备了一个精美的水果蛋糕！人力资源总监Jane一直以来都非常支持我们的公益项目，她鼓励我们的学生们尽全力学好烘焙和西点，并为他们未来的实习提出了宝贵的建议。Zhang Jianpu——海上青焙坊的第四届新生帮助了他。他过去曾在上海新发展亚太万豪酒店实习，之后在那里留任。他可谓这些年轻的烘焙师们的榜样！
