The Young Bakers tour Jing An’s bakeries
As our students come from different regions all over China, most of them had never seen a European style bakery in their life. They were always wondering if people can really enjoy French bread instead of some famous Chinese product such as rice or noodle.
Therefore, on September 15th, Teacher Zhang took the Young Bakers to a tour of Jing An bakeries including French bakeries, Chinese bakeries and Japanese bakeries, in order to give them an idea of places they could work at later.
The tour started at Sunflour. Our students were very excited and enthusiastic, especially when the manager allowed them to visit the kitchen. Moreover, the chief baker kindly gave lots of explanation and introduced the different products they bake. The Young Bakers recognized immediately some breads which they had already baked in class, making them very proud. At Sunflour, they also met one of our 4th batch graduate, now working as a baker there.
Then, the tour continued to others bakeries, such as Marc Polo, Jing An Bakery, Café Montmartre, Patisserie de France, Hilton bakery and Yamazaki bakery. In the end, it was an enriching day for the Young Bakers who had a real overview of the Shanghai bakery market and its many opportunities.

青焙坊学员游览静安区面包房
由于我们的学员来自于中国的不同地区,因此,他们大多数人从未有机会看看欧式面包房的样子。他们一直都很想知道除了中国式的食物,如米饭和面条以外,人们是否真的很喜欢法式面包。
因此,9月15日,张老师带领学员们参观了静安区的数十家面包房,包括法式面包房、中式面包房和日式面包房。借此机会,让他们了解他们之后会去怎样的地方工作。
面包房之行始于阳光粮品。我们的学生非常兴奋、热情,特别是在阳光粮品的经理允许他们进入厨房参观时。除此之外,主厨还给予了详细的解释,介绍了阳光粮品的烘焙产品。小青们非常迅速地认出了一些他们在课上学过的面包,并感到非常自豪。在阳光粮品,我们还遇到了现在在那儿工作的我们的第四届毕业生。
接着,我们又参观了其他一些面包房,包括马可孛罗面包房、静安面包房、梦曼特西餐厅、帕蒂斯坊、希尔顿面包房和山崎面包房。对于年轻的烘焙师们来说,那是充实的一天,因为他们对上海的面包市场有了大致的了解,也看到了机遇所在。
