A few weeks after the start of their intensive training, the Young Bakers went for a tour of the bakeries in Jing An district: in only a couple of hours they were able to visit 12 places producing bread, from traditional bakeries to restaurants, hotels and supermarkets. This shows the strong development of the bakery market in China, especially in big cities, and the variety of places where the students can work after graduation.

Shanghai Young Bakers is progressively getting recognition as one of the best bakery schools in China and also the only one to provide training in French bakery and pastry. Thus, and as the market is rapidly growing, the demand for graduates is increasing. Equipped with a valuable skill, the Young Bakers are empowered to choose the job that best fits their abilities, can get out of poverty and lead an independent life. To help them integrate a wider network of bakers, SYB just created an online platform to connect potential employers and bakers looking for new opportunities.

SYB also offers other services for bakery professionals, such as recipe development, staff training and consulting, as well as opportunities for them to engage with our students throughinternship opportunities, master classes, and visit of their baking center. All these services are a way for SYB to become more sustainable and also the recognition of over 6 years of hard work developing this expertise, in particular thanks to the support of partners such as theEFBPA bakery school.
