—Exchange between Fudan University Public Welfare’s Development center and SYB
Hello everyone, we are so happy to let you know that recently, the first outing of SYB(Shanghai Young Bakers) in year 2017 took place in Fudan University !
And it was also the first exchange between new members of SYB and students from Fudan University Public Welfare’s Development center.
Compared to last year’s outing, it was quite a windy day, but everybody’s motivation was high. And although we did not have a big sun, our shiny new members were more than ready to start the run! As the leader of a team, I am happy to say that everybody had so much energy and strength but I am also a bit ashamed to say that I was the one who has pulled down the team level, haha.
So what was this exchange for? Let me explain to you guys.
Objective of this activity is to give all participants a good chance to learn more about each other by having some teamwork games together. And for the new members of SYB, we hope that they can also get to know better about Fudan University after this visit.
The activity started at 13:00 on the 29th of October mainly it was a School Orienteering which lasted for about 3 hours! We felt so grateful for the students and members who have been sent out and standing in different meeting points for this long time!
We began with a funny Ice Breaking, and after dividing all members into 5 small teams we started the run! Tic-Tac Tic-Tac.
It’s time to test your memory! In the first mission, every member should remember his or her team members’ names in a limited time. Surprisingly the team I led only used 3 minutes to win the game. Makes me feel a bit like walking on air.
The second task is quite a creative one, each team should find the appointed location and take a photo there using some specified gestures. Thanks to this task, lots of amazing photos were taken. Some looks quite normal but others…use your imagination, haha.
Then came the hardest part, the “Ping Pong Ball Relay”. It was in front of Guang Hua building, a place where the wind blows the strongest. Members used chopsticks to hold the ping pong ball to finish this relay race without dropping the ball on the ground. How we hated the game designer, it was so difficult because of the wind. However by helping and encouraging each other all teams finished it successfully at the end. (Here comes the applauses!)
After another teamwork game “Turning the Sundial” everyone arrived in the front of the Chuang Xin Building to join the Guessing Game. To win the game, members should have a right guess of what was drawn by other team members. Some unique styles of drawing made everyone burst into laughter.
Knowing better about Fudan University by paying a visit but also by listening to its stories.
We have walked and ran by every corner of the university and then came to the part to settle down and hear about its story. Everyone was so concentrated in the presentation that no one found out they were took in pictures!
A few more interesting games then soon came to the end of the exchange.
There can only be 1 winner however at the end of the day, 2 teams had the same scores! Yes, my team involved, so as we only have 1 gift (so mean ha ha), we have started another game called 8 people 9 feet. Although my team has lost, I was still feeling very happy and yes happy time always seems to pass quickly.
Before leaving the beautiful Fudan University, a group photo was taken for souvenir. Everyone was so grateful for this wonderful time together, hoping that there will be a next time.
