On the road to recruit the 6th batch of bakers!
As the 5th batch of young bakers has successfully graduated, we are on the road again to look for 30 promising students!
SYB has a stringent selection process to make sure that we reserve our training to those that need it the most. We partner with other NGOs that share our ideals of respect and empowerment of underprivileged youth. For many of them, this includes sponsoring the education of their beneficiaries. However these fees increase as the students get older, and charities most often are only able to sponsor part of the students that would like to pursue their studies. Besides, many of them want to find a job as soon as possible to be able to help their family financially and alleviate their burden.
Our partner NGOs will thus introduce SYB to those looking to learn a valuable technical skill to lead an independent life. The candidates will first fill in an application, as well as a social worker familiar with their background and personality. The social educator and I will then screen these applications and contact selected candidates for a face to face or phone interview.
This summer I will go around Shaanxi, Henan and Anhui to visit our partner NGOs and select the next batch of young bakers. I will take this opportunity to tell you more about our amazing social partners and the incredible job they do in fighting against poverty and discrimination. 走在招募第六期学员的旅途上！
随着第五期年轻烘焙师们的顺利毕业，我们又再次上路，寻找30名有发展潜力的学生！
为了使得那些最需要帮助的人参与我们的烘焙培训，海上青焙坊对学员有着严格的筛选过程。我们与其他的非政府机构建立了合作关系，他们与海上青焙坊一样，尊重并希望帮助那些中国的贫困青年。他们中的大多数都为受益人的教育提供了资助。但是，随着学生们慢慢长大，教育的开支也会逐渐增加，而这些慈善机构只能资助一部分希望继续学业的学生。除了这些学生外，其他大多数学生都希望能尽快找到工作，以减轻家庭的经济负担。
因此，我们的合作公益机构会将海上青焙坊介绍给那些希望通过掌握一门有用的技术而自力更生的年轻人。这些候选者和熟悉他们背景及性格的社工首先要填写一张表格。生活老师和我会将这些申请表格记录下，并通过面对面或电话面试筛选候选人。
