French school students learn how to bake for “the Week of Taste”

Since its inception in 1990, the French Week of Taste (la Semaine du Goût française) has been celebrating each year taste education, culinary heritage and healthy eating habits. In 2013 for the first time, the Week of Taste was exported to China, including Shanghai!

On Monday 28th October, SYB teachers Pierre and Flore gave a bakery class to 1st grade pupils from Shanghai French School (Lycée Français de Shanghai) in the baking center. This was an opportunity for the children to learn more about the bread that they eat every day, and to bake it themselves for the first time!

After a short presentation of the ingredients and the recipe, the pupils baked their own raisin country bread under Pierre’s guidance. Dressed like authentic bakers, they mixed the ingredients and kneaded the dough. Then, the children watched in awe Pierre put the fermented bread dough in the oven. At the end of the lesson, each of the fifteen pupils took home the breads they heartedly made.

法国学校学生学烘焙 共度“品味周”

自1990年起,人们每年都会庆祝法国品味周,以此来感受教育、烹饪和健康的饮食习惯。2013年,品味周第一次来到了中国上海!

10月28日星期一,海上青焙坊的张老师和肖老师在烘焙中心为上海法国学校的一年级学生开设了烘焙课。这对于孩子们来说是一个机会,他们可以借此更了解他们每天都在吃的面包,还能第一次自己做这些面包!

在简短介绍了原料和食谱之后,学生们在张老师的指导下烤制了他们自己的葡萄干乡村面包。他们穿戴地像正式的烘焙师,混合原料、揉面团。接着,孩子们凝视着张老师把发酵好的面团放进烤箱。课程的最后,15名学生都将他们用心烤制的面包带回了家中。
