Auchan’s Family Day with SYB
欧尚家庭日
Last month, the SYB team was invited to contribute to Auchan’s Family Day. On May 29th, the French company gathered parents and children to join and enjoy together a cupcake workshop organized by Shanghai Young Bakers’ social enterprise. This was the opportunity for Auchan’s employees to have a good time and bond with their family members while getting to know more about our social mission: to help marginalized Chinese youth to empower themselves and find qualified jobs thanks to a one-year fully sponsored French bakery training.
5月29日，海上青焙坊团队应邀参加“欧尚家庭日”活动。在法国欧尚集团中国分部，家长与孩子济济一堂，欢声笑语，共同参与了社会企业海上青焙坊举办的“杯型蛋糕烘焙坊”。得益于本次活动，欧尚集团员工与其家人共度欢乐时光，加固亲情纽带，同时也深入了解海上青焙坊的社会使命：全额资助来自中国贫困偏远地区的青年一年的法式烘焙课程，让他们获得一生受用的宝贵技能，从白手起家走向事业的成功。
The whole activity started off by the tasting of some of our students’ delicious baked goods. Every one had the pleasure to enjoy little brioches, lemon meringue pies, black sugar madeleines and more. Needless to say, rumor had it in the corridors of Auchan’s office that traditional French bread and pastries were available somewhere, and by the end of the activity, people from next door were also in to have a bite.
首先，活动嘉宾品尝学生亲手制作的美味烘焙作品，从小奶油蛋卷、柠檬酥皮馅饼到黑砂糖玛德琳蛋糕，无一不令嘉宾大饱口福。甚至还有人起哄，“欧尚办公室走廊还放有传统法式面包和甜点！”活动结束后，隔壁办公室的员工也忍不住前来“分一杯羹”。
Then, our pastry teacher, Xiao Jinjin, shared some decoration tips with every one, showing that, in no time, with just a few simple advises, anyone can make colorful and remarkable cupcakes.
我们的甜点肖金金师正与大家分享一些装饰技巧，可见只需几条简单建议，假以时日，我们都能做出如此多彩而美味的杯型蛋糕。
After just a couple of minutes of demonstration, our pastry teacher did not have to ask twice for all of the little bees (and butterflies) to get busy with their cupcakes!
短短几分钟的示范后，无须甜点老师的命令与催促，所有的小蜜蜂、小蝴蝶就热火朝天地投入杯型蛋糕的制作中啦！
Under their parents’ guidance, children were able to follow their own creativity: thoroughly rolling, flattening and applying fondant. Of course, the activity turned out to be fun and playful for the children, but for the parents as well!
在父母的指导下，孩子们能够天马行空任创意驰骋并化为现实：他们投入地卷、擀、捏着软糖。当然，实践证明，活动不仅对于孩子其乐无穷，也让父母回味有余！
Finally, at the end of the activity, every one was really excited to take their creations home.
活动接近尾声，大家兴高彩烈地把各自作品带回家。
SYB says warm thanks to Auchan for choosing our social enterprise for their Family Day and helping us continue lifting marginalized youth out of poverty—all the proceeds from our social enterprise activities go to financially support the training of our students. We were happy to join hands with them and celebrate our shared values on such a special occasion, and we look forward to organizing more meaningful activities together with Auchan!
