Graduation Ceremony – End of the year and new beginning for the Young Bakers !

On July 21st, it is inside a very elegant place, The Pearl vintage theater, that took place the Graduation Ceremony of the 6th batch of Young Bakers !

The evening, full of surprises as well as emotion started with French piano music played live followed by the very popular French singer Dantès ! All the guests and sponsors had the great opportunity to taste products baked for the occasion by the SYB students, as well as wine and sangria kindly offered by Les Grands Chais de France.

The Young Bakers had then the privilege to be awarded by the General Consul of France in Shanghai himself, M. Emmanuel Lenain, as we were extremely lucky to have him join us on stage to give a short speech and hand the diplomas to the students, accompanied by M. Xu Benliang, director of Shanghai Charity Education and Training Center.

Of course, this achievement would not have been possible without your help ! On that evening, we invited our main sponsors, Carrefour, Lesaffre, Accor and Marriott, to the stage where they received cooperation certificates from SYB in a way to thank them for their contribution and great support to SYB.

Thanks to the volunteer teachers from Stepping Stones, our partner for 3 years now, the Young Bakers were able to introduce themselves and give a short skit in English to the audience. Great work !

The ceremony ended with the artistic bread contest results and the awaited lucky draw ! The participants had the chance to receive many great prizes, kindly sponsored by our partner hotels, Westin Bund Center, JW Marriott Shanghai Tomorrow Square, Four Seasons Pudong, Grand Mercure Hongqiao, Marriott Changfeng Park, as well as Lesaffre, Sinodis, Grands Moulins de Paris, Louis Vuitton employees, Dantès, Shanghai Young Bakers, JCEF, Les Grands Chais de France, Henkel and Jianchuang China.

Beyond the achievement of graduating from a one-year long intensive training where they learned and practiced French bakery and pastry skills, it is also a very moving human experience.

When the Young Bakers had their first day of class, none of them knew each other nor had come to such a large city before. From various backgrounds, they all have had to overcome different issues throughout their youth. When joining SYB program, they knew it would not be easy : they would have to adapt to a new environment, learn how to communicate with different people and such. Throughout the year, the Young Bakers have been studying and working hard in order to achieve their goal : acquire skills in French bakery in order to be able to find a decent job after graduation and become financially independent.Today, all of us including the SYB teachers, Wang Li, Zhang Zheng Hai and Xiao Jin Jin, are extremely proud of what they have achieved and the level they have reached in such a short period of time, not only in the technical aspect but also in their self-management. Thus, we would like to wish them a great start in their career and much luck for the future !

海上青焙坊毕业仪式-期末欢聚暨新篇章开始

7月21日,在复古精致的The Pearl Theatre,海上青焙坊迎来了她第六批青年烘焙师的毕业典礼。

整个夜晚的惊喜和感动伴随着法国著名歌手Dantès的歌声拉开了序幕。我们的客人和赞助商愉快地品尝海上青焙坊学员新鲜烘焙的法式糕点和由法国大酒窖赞助的桑格里厄汽酒。

我们极其荣幸地请到了法国驻上海总领事,Emmanuel Lenain先生,和上海慈善教育培训中心副主任,徐本亮先生,为典礼献词并为学员们颁发毕业证书。

当然,这美好的盛典中一定有您的一份功劳。当晚,我们邀请了我们的主要赞助商:家乐福基金会乐斯福集团雅高基金会万豪基金会,授予他们海上青焙坊的合作证书并致予了最诚挚的感谢。

感谢来自铺路石青少年教育发展中心(Stepping Stones)的志愿者老师们。我们已经愉快合作了3年。在他们的帮助下,学员们为来宾们呈现了一段诙谐幽默的英文秀。

这一年中,学员们不仅在法式烘焙和糕点技术方面进行了辛勤的学习和训练并顺利毕业,在人生经历上也有许多感人的体验。

当学员们第一次步入海上青焙坊的课堂时,他们身处一个陌生的大城市,彼此互不相识。生活背景各不相同的他们在青年时代都有各自的困难需要克服。在加入海上青焙坊项目时,他们便知道这将并不容易:他们需要适应一个全新的环境、学会如何和各类人群打交道等等。在这一年中,学员们为了实现自己的目标刻苦学习、工作着:他们希望在毕业之后,能凭借自己法式烘焙的技艺找到一份体面的工作,在经济上自力更生。今天,我们全体成员,尤其是SYB的几位老师:王莉老师、张政海老师和肖金金老师,都为学员们在这么短的时间内取得的成就倍感骄傲,他们不仅在烘焙技术上学有所成,在自我管理上也有了很大进步。在此,我们祝福他们的事业有一个美好的开端,并在将来诸事顺利!
