SYB Students Visit J.W Marriott Hotel Tomorrow Square
第九届海上青焙坊学员参观上海明天广场J.W万豪酒店
On Monday, October 10th, warmly welcomed by the JW Marriott Tomorrow Square’s team, Shanghai Young Bakers and the 32 students of 9th batch had the honor to visit the hotel, and its bakery and pastry departments. The purpose of this visit is for the Young Bakers, who are about to start their internship at our partner hotels, and so could get a glance at the environment of a 5-start hotel, in order to be better prepared.
星期一,10月10日,应J.W万豪酒店的热情邀请,海上青焙坊第九届的32位全体学员首次参观了五星级酒店与其饼房和烘焙室。此行目的是在他们实习之前,有机会熟悉实习环境。
As the Marriott hotels over the world, the JW Marriott Tmw Sq. pays very much attention in supporting the local community, in fact, J.W Marriott Hotel became a partner of Shanghai Young Bakers in 2011. The afternoon started with the introduction of the J.W Marriott Hotel, the representative of the HR, Michelle Sun , introduced the history of the J.W hotel briefly and she also mentioned the most important value of J.W Marriott Hotel: putting the people first. Moreover, she pointed out that J.W Marriott Hotel not only enriches staffly spare time, but also develops their various skills.
J.W万豪酒店一直重视公益事业,早在2011年,J.W万豪酒店就与海上青焙坊成立合作关系。首先,人事团队的代表孙小姐用幽默风趣的话语向学员们简单介绍了J.W万豪酒店;J.W万豪酒店作为一家高端的酒店品牌一直秉持着以人为本的基本信念,以不断充实并丰富员工的业余生活为基础,发展员工不同的技能。
Afterwards, Chef Calvin utilized his humour to tell us about how he made it to his current position, while all the students listened carefully to his inspiring story. During his speech, he made several key points, first, he noted ‘craftsman spirit’ which is implies not only having technical skill, but also implies an attitude and social consciousness; also, he encouraged students to always ask questions during their internship period, and think more; last but not least, the fundamentals are always the most important as they are used to grow upon.
紧接着,饼房厨师长应立韵用轻快的话语向海上青焙坊的团队及学员介绍了他的成长之路,学员们全神贯注的聆听着他的演讲。在他的演讲中,他不断提及工匠精神并不断鼓励并激励学生在实习期间要多问为什么,多去领悟及思考;并提及基础知识是最重要的,这是亘古不变的道理。
Both SYB and JW Marriott Tomorrow Square are very proud about Zhang Shuai’s impressive development: he joined SYB in 2011 and did his internship at the JW Marriott Tmw Sq. after being hired as a full-time baker upon his graduation. He was then selected by SYB to further his studies at the prestigious EFBPA in France and return to teach the new SYB students. Zhang Shuai’s studies expenses in France were proudly sponsored by the Marriott Foundation and everyone welcomed him as well as the pastry trainer, Jin Huizi, upon their return to Shanghai in May 2015. Since he entered the Marriott family, Zhang Shuai has always kept closely in touch with his previous teammates, and was genuinely moved to come back to the hotel with his students and meet Chef Calvin again.
海上青焙坊和明天广场J.W万豪酒店都为张帅令人深刻的发展感到自豪:他2011年加入海上青焙坊,并在明天广场J.W万豪酒店完成他的实习。在他毕业之后,被其雇佣为正式员工。后来,他被海上青焙坊选派去法国,在EFBPA进一步学习烘焙,并在回国之后,教授新的海上青焙坊的学员们。张帅在法国的学习费用万豪基金会赞助,在2015年5月回到上海,每个人欢迎他就如同当时欢迎糕点师金惠子一样。自从他加入了万豪这个大家庭,张帅一直和他之前的组员们保持着紧密的联系,他和他的学生一起回到了酒店并与饼房厨师长应立韵再次见面了。
After the speech, Chef Calvin led students to visit the Pastry and Bakery departments, while presenting the different rooms, team members and equipment. Throughout the time of visiting the Pastry and Bakery departments, the students’ eyes were full of excitement and enthusiasm!
在演讲结束后,应立韵带领着全体学员们参观学习了饼房和烘焙室,并且向学生们简单介绍了一下。在参观饼房和烘焙室时,学员们难以掩盖新奇及兴奋的眼神。
