On Monday April 9th 2012, SYB students were honored to visit Sunflour in Lujiazui, one of the most successful bakery shops in Shanghai. In the two-hour visit, SYB students got the chance to step into the Sunflour kitchen, where their fresh, high quality, handmade food was produced, and consult Guo Lifei, the French bakery chef in Sunflour, about technical skills in baking. All of the students regarded it as a rare opportunity to communicate with an experienced expert, so they bubbled any question occurred to them, including bread-making skills, future career path and personal questions as a baker. Mr. Guo was very kind to answer all the questions patiently, and give advices on the basis of his personal experience. Thanks to Sunflour, our students were able to take a glance at the real working condition of a successful bakery shop, which encouraged them to develop their baking skills and become qualified bakers.
