Preparing for Internship: Chef Alex Shares Experiences
After seven-weeks highly intensive training, the Young Bakers will move on to a new stage: having internships at pastries and bakeries in high-class five-star hotels. To help the students better understand the requirements and standards in hotels, SYB is much honored to have Chef Alex from Pullman Shanghai South Hotel again to share his internship and working experiences.
Chef Alex emphasized the importance of food hygiene in hotels, including temperature control, environment kitchen sanitation and etc, something important for the students to pay special attention to. He also encouraged students to develop good professional habits at the beginning of their internship, such as keep the desk clean, obey the rule of kitchen, etc.
The two hours sharing was interesting and engaging. The Young Bakers not only had a better understanding of their role as a baker in the hotel, but also built up their confidence for their coming internship.
In the Q&A session, students were very curious and asked a lot of questions covering various aspects such as hotel internships and professional development. Chef Alex answered all question patiently.
At last, as a senior baker, chef Alex placed great expectations on SYB’s 11th batch of students, wishing them a successful career as future bakers.
On behalf of SYB, I would like to thank Chef Alex for his continuous supporting to Shanghai Young Bakers.
