The whole team gathered today to enjoy a traditional French king cake: a nice way for our multicultural team to share and discover the French culture.

To ensure that each piece of cake would be randomly distributed, tradition says that the youngest person has to sit under the table and decides to whom each piece goes without seeing it.

Once each person has his/her piece of cake, everybody starts eating, excited to maybe be the lucky one and happy to share this delicious pastry with the team!

And the SYB King/Queen 2018 is… Mitty!
By finding the “fève” in her piece of cake she became the Queen of the day and was allowed to wear the famous crown.

Mitty joined the team for 8 months as part of her studies in Business Administration at the Shanghai University. She works since December 2017 as the Communication Coordinator.

Over the month of January 2018, Shanghai Young Bakers was able to raise about 34，000 RMB by selling King Cakes.

The SYB team particularly want to thank the General Consul of France in Shanghai, the Lycée Francais de Shanghai and BNP Paribas for supporting our charity program by ordering lots of SYB King Cakes!
