On Monday March 19th, Thomas Kalkhoven, Hirondelle Accademy Manager and Shi Ruijian, working as Junior Baking Technician since her graduation at SYB two years ago, came to introduce Lesaffre Shanghai activities to the Young Bakers.
Lesaffre is SYB’s most important sponsor. This partnership evolved with years to become a really comprehensive partnership that benefit the most for the students. More than financial donation, Lesaffre is also providing trainings on yeast, visit of one of their yeast factory, soft European baking training, public speaking training… Students gain a lot from these trainings and outings, from technical skills to more soft skills development.
On Monday Thomas started to introduce Lesaffre Shanghai Baking center and its technical expertise. He gave some examples on what they are working on and who are their clients and their expectations. Working at Lesaffre includes working on ingredients, texture, recipes.
Students did not have thought about technical development in Bakery. Following Thomas presentation, Shi Ruijian showed the students some pictures of her work while explaining what is it to be a Junior Baking Technician at Lesaffre.
On behalf of the Young Bakers I would like to warmly thank Thomas and Shi Riujian for their time. This really important introduction will help the students to focus on coming trainings and to have a better understanding of baking related working environment.
