“The harder you work, the luckier you are”: hoF’s founder Brian Tan shares his experience with the Young Bakers
“越努力,越幸运”——hoF创始人Brian Tan与海上青焙坊学员们分享经历
On Sunday, June 7th, the Young Bakers gathered at the hoF(House of Flour), a nice Brasserie-Bar located in Lujiazui founded by the famous pastry Chef and long-standing supporter of SYB, Brian Tan.
6月7日,周日,海上青焙坊的学员们齐聚hoF(House of Flour)。hoF位于陆家嘴,是一家美酒配糕点的酒吧,由著名糕点大师也是海上青焙坊的长期支持者Brian Tan创办。
For the 4th consecutive year, Brian shared his experience with a group of very attentive Young Bakers. Born in the countryside of Malaysia, Brian has made his way through the culinary world and reached the baking world. “In baking, the ingredients are alive, living organisms, such as yeast, and I found that fascinating” he explains. From Kuala Lumpur to Shanghai, after working in London and Singapore, Brian talks about his funny and sad stories, the choices he made and why, the people he worked with…The afternoon finishes with some advice to the students, such as the importance of having a good attitude and great motivation at work, work hard, and chose the work environment and Chefs that will always make you progress.
Brian已连续四年和一批批求知若渴的学员们分享他的经验。出身于马来西亚的农村的Brian,从厨师行业成功转战烘焙行业。Brian说“烘焙的材料是活的有机生命体,比如酵母,我觉得这很有意思。”他还与我们分享了从吉隆坡到上海的故事,在伦敦和新加坡的工作经历,他的快乐与悲伤,他所做的选择及原因,以及遇见的人们。在下午接近尾声的时候,Brian建议学员们在工作中保持积极的态度和高度的热情,努力工作,选择好工作环境和师傅,这些都会帮助大家进步。
In the end, very inspired, the Young Bakers had many questions for Brian, and were very proud to say which 5-star hotel in Shanghai they were currently training at. Finally it was time to say goodbye to Brian, with their head full of dreams and inspiration and ready to start their successful career!
最后,受到鼓舞的学员向Brian讨教了很多问题并骄傲地说出自己实习的五星级酒店。分别的时刻还是到来,而深受启发的学员们已整装待发,向自己梦想的事业迈进!
And two days later, what a surprise for the Young Bakers to see Brian coming into the baking center of SYB, to take part into the evaluation of their final pastry examinations!
