Open Up the New World
On September 7th in Shanghai, the sun finally came out shining. The 12th batch of students of Shanghai Young Bakers was excited to have the tour around the Bund. I just got in touch with Shanghai Young Bakers this June and I am so honored to be a part of them.
These students of Shanghai Young Bakers come from different parts of China. They come to Shanghai to fulfill their dream to become a baker. For most of them, it’s their first time to visit Shanghai this time. And for them, they are facing a new world by learning and living in Shanghai, this city for one year.
When the students went through the busy flow of Nanjing road, they couldn’t hold their excitement to take photos of those old buildings with modern style. Arriving at the Bund, the view became wider. Regardless of the hot sunny day, the students had a bright smile on their face to be a photographer and taking photos for each other. After two weeks of studying and living together, the students knew each other very well already. Each funny moment was freeze-framed.
For the past two weeks, I witnessed these students transforming from nervousness when facing new environment to now self-assurance. For some students, they are very shy at the beginning, and now they have the biggest smile on their face. I think that the students feel the warmness from the big family of Shanghai Young Bakers. It gives them the confidence to finish the study and to open up a new chapter of their lives. Shanghai Young Bakers, a nonprofit organization, will open up a new world for these students’ career. Let us bless them to be future young bakers! SYB, GO GO GO!
